What will my child need?

  • Nappies and wipes (if appropriate)
  • Change of clothes
  • Packed Lunch (if appropriate)
  • Waterproof coat, Trousers, Wellies, (for outdoor play)
  • Indoor shoes i.e. pumps or slippers
  • Gloves, Hat, Scarf (in winter)
  • Sun hat, sun cream (in summer) please apply before coming to nursery
  • Comforter if required

We have available to purchase from Identity in Barrow: Nursery Sweatshirts, polo shirts and jogging bottoms. It is recommended you send children dressed in clothes which are easily washable or not too new. This enables the children to feel free to explore and experiment with all kinds of materials, including messy ones.

Do we accept payment from Childcare Voucher Schemes?

Yes. Parents/Carers can pay for part or all sessions using vouchers.

NB. Childcare Voucher Schemes are non-taxable and exempt from national insurance – ask your employers if they run this scheme, to save a substantial amount in fees – see Carrie for more information

Holidays

Please advise us if you wish to book holiday days in advance.

Absences

Please notify the nursery if your child is absent, full fees will be charged for these days because a place has been reserved for your child.

Sickness

If you think your child is feeling under the weather please let us know so we can monitor them.

Please do not bring your child to nursery if they are suffering any infectious illness such as chicken pox, measles, sickness + diarrhoea, eye and ear infections, ect.

Medication

medicines are only given if prescribed by a doctor. Parent must complete the necessary documentation kept by Carrie in the office.

Collecting a child from the nursery

Children will only be handed to a parent/relative who are known by our staff. If you wish another person to collect your child please let us know in advance, we run a password system which may be used.

If we do not know the person collecting and have not been advised, we will make further checks before the child is collected.

Parents

All parents or prospective parents are welcome to have a look around the nursery and stay with there child at sessions if they wish.

Do we have an outside play area?

We have a large enclosed playing area which includes a stage, castle, pirate ship, outside classroom, pets corner, climbing frame, willow den, veg plots and large scale digging area.

All policies are up to date and can be viewed in our reception area, all relevant certificates are on our notice board.
